We collect only what we need to make and deliver your kit, and we do not sell it.
1. What we collect
- Payment details. Payments run through Stripe. We see your name, email, amount and payment status. We never see or store your full card number.
- Your intake form. Answers you give in our Tally form: your game, links, goals and anything else you choose to share.
- Email. Messages you send us and the kit we send you.
- Newsletter sign-ups. If you join The Launch Tavern Dispatch using the form on our homepage, your email address goes to our newsletter provider, Kit (formerly ConvertKit). Kit sends you a confirmation email first, and you are only added once you confirm.
- Launch Board submissions. If you submit a game at /launches/submit/, the form collects your game title, studio or developer name, launch date, store link, platforms, short description, contact email, an optional press kit link and whether you are interested in the Press Start Kit. Submitting opens your own email app with a pre-filled message to us. This site does not store the form data; we receive only the email you choose to send.
- Basic server logs. Our web host, WP World, keeps standard request logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and reliability.
2. How we use it
To make and deliver your kit, handle revisions and refunds, answer your messages and keep records we are required to keep. We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
If you subscribe to the newsletter, we use your email address only to send The Launch Tavern Dispatch. If you submit a game to the Launch Board, we use your details to review the submission and contact you about it. The public details of a listed game (title, studio, launch date, store link, platforms and description) may be shown on the Launch Board. We never publish your contact email.
The Launch Board also shows capsule art and game details taken from public Steam store pages. If you are the developer or publisher and want a game removed, email support@launchtavern.com and we will take it down.
3. Who processes it
We use a few service providers to run the business: Stripe (payments), Tally (intake form), Kit (newsletter), WP World (hosting), our email provider, and third-party software tools that help us research and draft, which may include AI writing and research tools. Every kit is checked by a person before delivery. These providers handle data under their own privacy terms.
4. Cookies and analytics
This site currently uses no analytics or advertising cookies. Stripe and Tally may set their own cookies on their pages. If we add analytics, we will update this page first.
5. How long we keep it
We keep order and intake records for as long as needed to deliver your kit and handle revisions, and payment records for as long as tax and accounting rules require. You can ask us to delete the rest at any time.
6. Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information by emailing support@launchtavern.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, and we will honor them.
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any newsletter email, or by emailing support@launchtavern.com. Developers can ask us to remove a Launch Board listing the same way.
7. Children
The service is for adults buying for their own or their studio's game. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 (or the minimum age where you live).
8. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
